For our first "Objects for Every Day" post it seems appropriate to feature Deidre Webster, the founder and designer behind Minneapolis-based Studio Day.
Deidre founded Studio Day in 2018 with the goal of helping those, who like her, are passionate about preserving the historical soul of their homes while seeking to accommodate modern functionality. She has influenced countless historic homeowners across the Twin Cities (and beyond!) to appreciate their vintage bathrooms and save their deco tile. We love Deidre's use of color, pattern, and historic detail with a fresh twist-- all of which are on display in her beautiful south Minneapolis home.
We asked Deidre a few questions about what she finds inspiring and had her apply her practiced eye to pick a few of her favorite products from Flotsam and Fork:
What is your favorite special “object for every day”? Something that elevates the experience by using it?
Where have you found unexpected inspiration lately?
On a home visit to Baltimore a few weeks ago, I popped into the aquarium. I was not only inspired by all the creatures and habitats, but the architecture and location as well. The vibrancy and movement of the jellies and anemones were my favorite part. How do these creatures without brains even exist??
Deidre's Picks:

Wicker Basket with Brown Stripe
We’ve already used this in our office to provide pastries to a client. It’s the perfect size and of course I’m here for any kind of stripe or pattern! We love to get pastries from Alma and the basket is perfect for this!
I started using this jar for florals since it’s summer. Currently it’s full of cosmos! We just redid our kitchen range alcove and it’s the perfect accent to the delft tile.

This towel is still that one I can’t completely have a casual relationship with yet. I’m obsessed, but it’s there for show at this point. I do have another one that I love and treat like a towel should be treated. The more I use it the better it gets! Linen is the best. (Note: Deidre has had this Flotsam and Fork favorite for years! It's currently out of stock but will be back soon.)
